Turner Theatre

Community Cinema at Elon University

ABOUT

Turner Theatre is a 220-seat movie theater located in Dwight C. Schar Hall in Elon University's School of Communications. The theater has regular programming four days a week during the academic calendar, as well as special events throughout the year. All events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise stated.

Turner is also available as a venue for Elon students, faculty and staff to host their own community and university-wide events. To reserve the theater, complete the reservation request form.

OUR MISSION

Turner Theatre is dedicated to celebrating the cinematic art form. With a curated program, Turner showcases the diversity of film, screening art house to blockbuster. The theater serves as a space for entertainment, cultural engagement, and social connection.

Through collaborations with the Cinema & Television Arts Department, as well as faculty and staff across Elon University, Turner Theatre aims to inform and engage the community with post-film discussions, moderated panels, and guest artist visits.

Turner Theatre also supports emerging filmmakers and students by providing space to share their work through events such as community screenings, student showcases, and work-in-progress nights.
